Farecast
Farecast predicts future travel prices by examining past trends. The company's software grew out of a research project named Hamlet, a collaboration between the University of Washington and the University of Southern California. Farecast collects airfare pricing data for every city in its database to construct economic prediction models based on past behavior and current market conditions. The site helps travel buyers identify slight variables such as purchase date or travel date which may affect his or her final cost of airfare.
